šI believe many women can relate to Michal in The Bible. Michal was the daughter of King Saul and was Davidās first wife who truly loved David (1 Samuel 18:20). She believed in his calling, she admired his anointing, and she even risked her life to protect him when her father sought to kill him (1 Samuel 19:11ā17).
šMost heartbreaks begin in the home. Just as it began in Michalās home with her father Saul. He used her love as a weapon. He gave her to David NOT out of kindness, but as a trap, hoping sheād become a snare to him (1 Samuel 18:21). She was treated not as a daughter to cherish, but as a tool in her fatherās war.
šWhen Saulās rage against David grew after David fled, Saul took Michal away and gave her away to another man in marriage (1 Samuel 25:44). She had no say, no voice, no choice in the matter.
šYears later, when David rose to power, he became ruler over Judah while Ish-bosheth (Saulās son) ruled over the rest of Israel after King Saul died, and the wounds of Michal deepened.
šAbner (Saulās army commander) came to David and offered to unite the kingdom under David. David agreed BUT only on one condition, āYou shall not see my face unless you bring Michal, Saulās daughter, when you come to see me.ā (2 Samuel 3:13)
šDavid sent messengers demanding āGive me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.ā (2 Samuel 3:14) So they took her from her husband Paltiel, who followed her weeping. (2 Samuel 3:16)
šMichalās story is definitely NOT one of a fairy-tale love. It is a story of a woman who was used, mishandled, and forgotten by the men who should have covered her. Her life reminds us that even when men fail us, God SEES usšš¼š.
šMichal was torn from a man who loved her not because anyone cared about her heart but because men in power were fighting for their own gain. Saul used her. David reclaimed her. But neither truly saw her.
š2 Samuel 6:16 tells us that Michal stands by a window, watching David dance before the Lord, and āshe despised him in her heart.āš„ŗ Not because she hated worship. But because she had been wounded. Overlooked. Used. Passed around like property in the hands of men who were SUPPOSED to love her.
šMany women today carry Michalās pain.
Pain from your father who failed to protect you.
Pain from your husband who didnāt honor your heart. You felt disposable, unworthy, or invisible.
šYou gave your love, your loyalty, your prayersĀ and were met with rejection, betrayal, or silence.
Youāve stood at your own window, watching others dance in joy while you grieved silently behind the glass.
ā¤ļøš©¹I say this to you who can relate to Michal.
GOD SEES YOU!!! God sees the father wounds that shaped you. He sees the betrayals that broke you. He sees the silence that scarred you.
You are NOT forgotten! You are NOT invisible! You are NOT unworthy!
šš¼There is One Man who will NEVER use you, NEVER leave you, and NEVER forget you, Ā Jesus Christššš¼!
šš¼He is the father that NEVER abandons!Ā āThough my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive meā (Psalm 27:10). He is the Healer of the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3). He is The God who SEES you (Genesis 16:13). He is the FAITHFUL Husband who will NEVER betray you or misuse you, āYour Maker is your Husband; the Lord Almighty is His nameā (Isaiah 54:5).Ā
šHe calls you chosen, beloved, and redeemed. You may have been MISHANDLED by Saul. You may have been FORGOTTEN by David. But you are FOREVER HELD by Jesus.
šThe greatest love story of your life is NOT the one that ended in heartbreak, itās the one that began at the Crossā¤ļøš©¹.Ā Psalm 34:18 ā āThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
šš½Heavenly Father,
I lift up every woman who will read these words every daughter who, like Michal, has beenĀ used by others, forgotten by those she loved,
and wounded by the very people who were supposed to protect her.
š©·Lord, You saw Michalās tears when her father gave her away. You saw her heartbreak when David reclaimed her without care for her heart. And You see the tears of every woman carrying those same invisible wounds today.
š©·Father,Ā for the one who feelsĀ discarded, remind her she is chosen. For the one who feels abandoned, wrap her in Your steadfast love. For the one who feels unworthy, speak over her that she is precious in Your sight.
š©·Where fathers failed to affirm, and men failed to cherish, step in, Lord, as the perfect Father and the faithful loving husband. Heal the ache of rejection. Break the lies of worthlessness. Restore the joy and confidence that only come from being fully known and fully loved by You.
š©·Breathe life into dry hearts, beauty into broken places, and hope into the souls who thought love passed them by. Let them feel Your nearness, hear Your whisper of belonging, and rest in the truth that You have never overlooked them.
š©·Lord Jesus, embrace them with the love that never leaves, never fails, and never forgets. In Your name, we declare healing, wholeness, and restoration over every woman reading this prayer. May she rise from the window of pain
and walk into the light of Your everlasting love. š In Jesusā mighty name, Amen.
