Never underestimate the power of your words! Why? Because the enemy never does. The moment you start speaking negatively, Satan will use those words against you. He knows he can’t directly destroy you, his goal is to get you to destroy yourself through the words you speak.
Your words can move mountains. Your words can heal. Proverbs 12:18 says, “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
In Genesis 1:3, God simply said, “Let there be light,” and there was light! His words created life. And in Genesis 1:26-27, we learn that we are made in His image, meaning our words also carry tremendous creative power here on earth.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Every word you speak plants a seed, you will eat the fruit of those words, whether good or bad.
Ephesians 4:29 tells us, “Do not let unwholesome words come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up, so that it will benefit those who listen.” Before speaking, ask yourself: Will this bless someone? Will it help? Is it necessary?
The enemy is patient, like a vulture, waiting for moments of weakness when we speak negatively, because that’s when we open the door for him to attack.
Proverbs 21:23 says, “Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself from troubles.” Not every thought that enters your mind needs to be spoken. If it doesn’t bring life, let it stay unspoken.
Jesus said in Matthew 12:37, “For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Every word you speak has consequences.
Today, I challenge you to pray these scriptures over your life:
- Psalm 19:14 – “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
- Psalm 141:3 – “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.”
Let your words be life-giving. Speak healing. Speak hope. Speak victory.
