One of my absolute favorite scriptures is John 14:1:
“Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me.”
Trusting in God means placing your confidence in Him above anyone else, even above yourself. No matter what life throws at you, you must keep your focus and your eyes fixed on God. Do not lose sight of Him.
The enemy will use people, situations, and distractions to pull your attention away from where it needs to be. He wants you to obsess over the problem, to believe that your focus should be on the storm. But here’s the truth: you are not in control, God is.
Stop trying to be a backseat driver. Instead, sit back as a passenger and let God take the wheel. Trust that He knows how to navigate, how to avoid collisions, and how to get you through life’s traffic.
When trouble comes, remember, yes, the enemy may be at work, but God already has a plan. So be still. Be at peace. Pray. And know without a doubt… God’s got this.
